| What is domain management? This is actually a very
important part of having a web site! When you want a
web site you first have to choose a domain name. Choosing
the best name possible may take some time. Once you
find the name you want, you have to purchase the domain
name from a registrar. Once the domain is purchased you have full
control to manage all the domain records.
However, what we have found, time and time
again, is that once the domain is purchased, it is forgotten
about. This can cause big problems down the road! Most commonly, if
the domain is not renewed it could expire. If that happens,
you will lose ownership of the domain name. The domain will then become available for purchase. If some one else buys your domain name you might loose it indefinitely. Another common problem is when the owner of the domain
has lost all access info to the domain account at the domain registrar. When this happens no changes can be made to the domain info.
Essentially all control over the domain is lost and it can be extremely difficult
to regain control! There are numerous other reasons why it is important to have a company manage your domain name, all of which
boil down to one good reason... "you will never have to worry about your domain name again!" |
